Description
ReN in Translation and Interpreting was convened as a meeting place for scholars conducting research on translation and interpreting informed by the methods, frameworks and paradigms of Linguistics. Functioning as a forum for intra-disciplinary exchange, its primary goal is to encourage applied research and generate the potential for future collaborative projects, which would help define the subsequent activities of the ReN . Furthermore, it aims to build upon the uniquely broad academic network that AILA provides to activate to promote cross-disciplinary co-operation and to achieve a greater visibility for the research done in our own field.

The next AILA World Congress will take place in 2011 in Beijng, China. Information is available at http://www.aila2011.org/en/.
Application for Grants
AILA aims to extend participation in Applied Linguistics across geographical areas not currently well represented in our association by offering a limited number of Solidarity Awards to scholars in Applied Linguistics who might be unable to participate in the World Congress without financial support.
Scholars who would like to apply for the Solidarity Award can find more information under Solidarity Awards.
The conference will take place with meetings of the AILA Executive Board and International Committee and of AILA-Europe.
The conference is concerned with all aspects of language policy, language learning and of language learning policy. Contributions need not address all three aspects. It will welcome papers, posters and panels on promoting and managing language policy and research on the development, implementation and effects of language policy in all regions of the world. The organisers will particularly welcome studies that contribute to language policy theory, both in regard to language learning and other domains.
