Discourse Analysis and Language Teaching in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

The 41st International Congress of the Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics (AESLA) will be held at the Universitat Politècnica de València from April 17 to 19, 2024, organized by the Department of Applied Linguistics of this university.

The motto, “Discourse Analysis and Language Teaching in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” is directly related to three major thematic axes of outstanding significance and impact within Applied Linguistics today. Firstly, the various ways that exist to analyze language and discourse, so that they fulfill a relevant function in society and serve for human development. Secondly, the teaching and acquisition of languages, a fundamental aspect in the global and interconnected world in which we live. And, thirdly, the reflection on artificial intelligence, a very new field that is being rapidly and deeply established among us, and that we must study rigorously from the point of view of Applied Linguistics.
