Call For Papers: AFLA 2025 – The Natural and the Artificial in Applied Linguistics, July 2-4, 2025 | Deadline: Sept 17, 2024
We are pleased to announce the opening of the call for papers for the next conference of the Association Française de Linguistique Appliquée - AFLA, which will take place in Nancy from 25 to 27 June 2025 on the theme: "the Natural and the Artificial in Applied Linguistics".
NéALA 2025 aims to examine the shift between the natural and the artificial in applied linguistics. This link may be perceived as an opposition, an interdependence, a complementarity or even a transformation which may require a critical scientific analysis.
The emergence of large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT formulating credible answers has plunged the world into wonder on the one hand and panic on the other, undermining the place of human creativity. What is really going on? What role can applied linguistics play?
Contributions may be theoretical or empirical, disciplinary or methodological, based on field experience or research projects. All fields of applied linguistics are welcome. Proposals can be individual or collective in the form of a symposium in French or English.
All the information and submissions can be found on the conference website: https://neala2025.
We hope that many of you will respond to the call,
The NéALA2025 organizing committee
