The 10th AILA-Europe Junior Researchers' Meeting in Applied Linguistics will be hosted by the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, September 10th to 11th. This year’s conference focuses on Research(ing) Cultures in Applied Linguistics.

The two-day Junior Researcher Meeting will allow early career applied linguists to present their research as well as network in an interactive and informal international environment. This year, 37 young researchers will be presenting their work in German and English.

The conference programme will be supplemented by keynotes that are tailored to the needs of young researchers:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gene Thompson (Rikkyo University, Japan) and
Jun. Prof. Dr. Dominik Rumlich (University of Münster, Germany)
will be talking about first career steps in research and about methodology.
