UIL launches a second online course on family and intergenerational literacy and learning (FILL)

The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Learning, is launching a second online course on family and intergenerational literacy and learning (FILL). It is a self-directed, self-paced online course on training facilitators of FILL programmes. 

It is designed for education professionals working in the area of early childhood care and education, school education and adult education. Facilitators of literacy and education programmes for adults and children are strongly encouraged to enrol. Through this course, participants will:

  • have a better understanding of adult and child learning theories;
  • identify different activities and materials for family reading, writing, numeracy and other learning areas;
  • recognize diverse linguistic and cultural contexts of families and capitalize on the existing learning practices;
  • identify different opportunities for further professional development.

A certificate will be available upon completion of the course, which comprises approximately 35 hours of learning.
